The New Jersey Nets will have one last opportunity to convince Dwight Howard that he ought to continue pushing for a trade out of Florida this Friday, as the Brooklyn-bound franchise hits the road against Howard’s current Orlando Magic. An upset road win could convince the big man that the Nets are a factor on the NBA betting line.
So far this season the Nets have struggled. They’ve had their clocks cleaned twice already by the Magic and have just 500/1 odds of winning the NBA championship on Bovada’s basketball futures list. Sadly, they remain one of Howard’s primary pursuers.
Would a Howard-Deron Williams combination be enough to push the stagnant franchise back into the spotlight on the NBA betting line? With a move across town on the horizon, the pairing of superstars could be a marketing miracle.
On the court, however, it’s business as usual. Would a big season in Orlando be enough to convince him to stay? With 35/1 odds of winning the title and a strong case of finishing the regular season with a home-court berth in the first-round of the playoffs, it’s hard to imagine the Magic don’t have a hometown advantage.
